Support Worker Hub provides First Aid and CPR courses aimed at disability support workers, educating them on specialised skills needed in emergency situations involving disabled clients.
Combined theory and practical session. The majority of the course is at your own pace and schedule.

Support worker Hub uses Livcor (RTO 3586) to provide First aid and CPR.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. It applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a workplace or community setting.

This course provides the skills and knowledge to be able to handle cardiac emergency situations. It includes:
There are no prerequisite units. Participants will need the ability to meet the physical demands of providing resuscitation. Participants will also need oral communication skills to make an accurate verbal report to emergency services and workplace supervisor. Prior to the start of face-to-face practical training, there may be a short knowledge quiz to check language, literacy and numeracy skills, as required.
Progressive assessment throughout the course, including demonstration of practical skills and written and oral questions relating to underpinning knowledge.
Note that the provision of CPR must be demonstrated on the floor.

A nationally-recognised Statement of Attainment will be issued to all successful participants.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a workplace or community setting.

4 hours face-to-face classroom or workplace training and assessment with 6 hours online or workbook pre-work
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
There are no prerequisite units. Participants will need the ability to meet the physical demands of providing first aid. Participants will also need oral communication skills to make an accurate verbal report to emergency services as well as the written communication skills needed for completion of a First Aid Incident Report. Prior to the start of face-to-face practical training, there is a short quiz to check language, literacy and numeracy skills and to authenticate the pre-work.
